What is Amy Winehouse, Miley Cyrus, and Mike Golic Doing For Thanksgiving?

I have no idea!!!! but I hope Miley Cyrus keeps on singing since my soon-to-be stepdaughter, Rebecca, LOVES her. Former Pro Football Star Mike Golic is a great radio announcer and thanks for admitting to using steroids...10 years after you retired from football!!! I am sure you have helped many aspiring young lineman choose not to use steroids. It's plain and simple... Steroids are for cheaters!!!! I hope Amy Winehouse stays away from drugs and just as important, cigarettes, since she has such an amazing voice....what a talent!!!

Here are some of my tips for those who are trying to help there close ones quit smoking:

1. help lighten their stress levels. help the quitter with a few chores like watching their kids, cooking -- whatever will help of quitting

2.Don't take the quitter's grouchiness personally during his or her nicotine withdrawal. The symptoms usually dissipate in about 2 weeks.

3. Studies show that most people try to quit smoking 5 to 7 times before they succeed. If a relapse happens, think of it as being one step closer to succeeding and not failing!!!!

Brad and Angelina Never Struggle As Emotional Eaters Struggle Most At Dieting and Weightloss!

Get ready for this emotional eaters....like me.....when we eat feeling lonely or blue, tend to lose the least amount of weight and have the hardest time keeping it off. Doesn't that stink! Heather Niemeier, an obesity researcher at The Miriam Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, said in a statement. "We found that the more people report eating in response to thoughts and feelings, the less weight they lost,"
The study included 286 overweight men and women who were participating in a behavioral weight loss program.

A second group consisted of more than 3,300 adults who have lost at least 30 pounds and kept it off for at least one year.Niemeier and her team analyzed responses to an eating inventory questionnaire. They focused on people who ate because of external influences, such as people who eat too much at parties, and people who ate because of internal influences, such as feeling lonely or as a reward.

What they found is that the more a person ate for internal reasons, the less weight they lost over time."Our results suggest that we need to pay more attention to eating triggered by emotions or thoughts as they clearly play a significant role in weight loss," Niemeier said.

So, what can you do if emotional eating is a problem?
Make a conscious effort to become more aware of how and why you may be using food or what is going on around you while you are eating. Develop new skills for mood regulation. If you need support to do so, find a professional. The focus should be on improving your emotional and physical well-being not just weight loss.

Herbal Sex Pills Worse Than A Bad Headache

You've seen the adds... "All-natural" alternatives to Viagra, Stamina-RX and Vigor-25, but just use caution because using these pills can lead to STROKE and even DEATH. That is because these alternatives come from Central America and Asia and contain nitrates- drugs prescribed to lower blood pressure and regulate heart disease. When mixed, nitrates and impotency pharmaceuticals can slow blood flow catastrophically, leading to a heart attack or stroke. Read The rest of this scary story!

You must check out a delicious healthy carbonated drink called "Fizzy Lizzy" from Lizzy herself Lizzy Morrill. Lizzy shared her amazing journey from coming up with the idea all the way to producing it. This amazing beverage is spreading like wildfire all over the country. Some of the great flavors it comes in are: Red Hill Pomegranate, Gulf Coast Tangerine, Pacific Raspberry Lemon, Mount Fuji Apple, Yakima Valley Grape, Costa Rican Pineapple, Northern Lights Cranberry and Lone Star Grapefruit. Eight great fruity bubbly flavors. For more information about Lizzy and her Fizzy fun drink check out her website www.fizzylizzy.com and make sure you ask the store manager of your favorite grocery store to stock it if they don't already. "Super Man", Christopher Bergland, Shares "The Athlete's Way" To Exercise & Sweet Susi May Shares "Shocking" News Even For Lindsay Lohan!

I have been enjoying the heck out of Christopher Bergland's awesome new book called "The Athlete's Way." Christopher is an amazing athlete who has accomplished some astonishing athletic endeavors like holding the Guinness World Record for treadmill running (153.76 miles in 24 hours.) He has completed The Triple Iron Man, a 7.2-mile swim, 336-mile bike, followed by a 78.6-mile run (done consecutively) in a record breaking time of 38 hours and 46 minutes and won the race three times...and a bunch of other amazing accomplishments. So when he came on the show last night, we learned what goes on in the mind of a guy who can literally exercise all day and all night. Listen to the interview and you will find Chris to be a very modest guy and he has taken those experiences and coupled them with some of the brain science he learned from his Brain Surgeon dad to write a book that can help sedentary people stick to their exercise program. Some of the tips we talked about include developing an athletic mindset. This includes setting goals, getting inspiration, monitoring your mood and using positive imagery. By incorporating some the same techniques this amazing athlete uses to break World Records you can stick to your exercise routine. Please check out his website www.theathletesway.com for more information and exercise tips.

One of the Internet's best bloggers and one of Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy's favorite guests...Sweet Susi May from FitSugar joined us again for their monthly segment. Susi announced a New Balance clothing giveaway to benefit Susan G Komen Foundation in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Some of the other topics we talked about were: the Hardees Breakfast burrito that tips the scapes at over 900 calories....mmm burritos; things to think about when buying sneakers; the new Vinyasa Jump Through yoga dvd; and her favorite tip about getting a fitness buddy. We also heard about her yoga getaway with her husband to celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary. So be sure to check out the whole interview. For more about Fit Sugar go to their website and try and win those awesome New Balance exercise clothes www.fitsugar.com.

Also Don't Forget to check out my tips on how to add exercise to your weekends. He said 1-take the dog for a loooong walk; 2-hike somewhere with an inspirational view 3-meditate using deep breathing exercises. He had more great fitness tips but you'll have to listen to get them.

Hot Moms Should Eat PopChips and Escape To Shape! Tiffany Dishes Out Some Daily Candy! Crunchgear's John Biggs Must-Have Fitness Gadgets!

On tonight's show, Anja Schellekens, one of the founders of Escape to Shape joined us from Belgium. Escape to Shape offers vacations combining comfort, culture and fitness at exotic locations around the world. Not only will you enjoy luxurious accommodations,
delicious food and the latest fitness class you'll also sample some of the best spa amenities available. Anja says that her vacations are perfect for singles as well as couples. Find out where they are headed next, I'll give you a hint...think The Soprano's. For more information about Escape to Shape check out their website www.escapetoshape.com

We also had on two of the Internet's biggest stars and our buddy, John Biggs from CrunchGear.com, shared with us the fitness gadgets he finds from his travels from around the world. He just came back from Japan where he saw the first personal trainer/cell phone. This device is part pedometer, part heart rate monitor, part phone. the only thing it doesn't do is wipe the sweat off your forehead. John also talked about lots of other cool gadgets and fitness gear but you'll have to listen to get the skinny. For more information check out John's blogs www.crunchgear.com and www.runninggearreview.com

We were so lucky to have Tiffany Davis from DailyCandy.com in the studio with us. Tiffany is one of our favorite guests and she talked all about fun ways to build a healthy kitchen. As you know she and her staff are always researching the latest and the greatest next cool thing. First Tiffany talked about these super cool flavor sheets you put right on top of your favorite food as you cook it. She also mentioned something about the return of the Snoopy Sno Cone Maker and some other equally wild stuff. For more information about The Daily Candy please go to their website www.dailycandy.com and be one of the 3 gazillion other subscribers to get their daily email newsletter.

And that wasn't it, as you know the Fat Guy is always researching quality, kind of healthy, delicious snacks. And he found another one. PopChips. PopChips are kind of healthy chips. These are never fried, never baked, all natural chips. Since these amazing bites of crunchy goodness are popped instead of fried they can fit more fo them in the bag for the same calories. For example, an old school chip company might fit 10 chips in a 100ish calorie bag with PopChips you'll get twice that for about the same calories. That's right more crunches per calorie. the Fat Guy loved the BBQ and I loved the Wasabi. Try them for yourselves. Go to there website for all the locations you can find them or to order them online. www.PopChips.com

You can listen to the show and learn all about milk or check out the article in the latest issue of Eating Well magazine. Also go to their website and subscribe to their free email newsletters they are awesome www.eatingwell.com

But that's not all, this show also had on Charles Staley the author of Muscle Logic and other great books. He has appeared on the TODAY show as well as The CBS Early Show and shared his counter-intuitive approach to weight training and fitness. Charles told the fat guy to invert his reps when he strength trains for better results. Dr Fitness had to tell Charles that the Fat Guy doesn't get into the gym much. Charles recommends that instead of 3 sets of 10 you do 10 sets of 3 in the same amount of time. Less reps more sets. The Fat Guy calls this "The Joy of Sets" To learn more check out Charles website www.staleytraining.com and www.charlesstaley.com

And the Fat Guy wants to give a big thanks to RedGrrl who emailed him and said nice things. Believe it or not, the Fat Guy does not get a lot of fan mail. So thank you RedGrrl for taking the time to email him. And yes hot mom, Jennifer Nicole Lee is "that peppy." By the way, this weekend is JNL's bikini bootcamp in South Beach!
